Biography : The daughter of a Haitian mother and French Canadian father, Sharlene Royer is fluent in both English and French. she was a dancer from the ages of 7 to 18, and is classically trained in ballet, jazz and tap, having studied with Louise Lapierre and Les Grands Ballets Eddie Toussaint and - at just 13 - performed on Montreal's world-class stage at Place des Arts. As a teenager Ms. Royer was part of the theatre group La Troupe des Carcans, where she spent over four years perfecting her craft. Later, Ms. Royer studied Art & Communications at College Jean-de-Brébeuf .
While working as a model and actor, Ms. Royer was discovered by acclaimed stunt coordinator Alan Oliney in 1999 and quickly catapulted to the forefront of the stunt-work scene, soon becoming the sought-after favorite for stars like Halle Berry, Vanessa Williams , Rosario Dawson, Monica and Pam Grier.
Her most recent accomplishments include outstanding acting work in a lead role as Julliette on the French CBC's Le 7e round (2006), which earned her a 2007 S.O.B.A. (Sound of Blackness Awards) trophy for best actress. She can also be seen in Stuart Gordon's upcoming film Stuck (2007), where she acted alongside Stephen Rea and Mena Suvari. Ms. Royer also acted in Death Race (2008) directed by Paul W.S. Anderson.
